History Was Made Recently With Monster Trucks

Monster Truck NewsThe popularity of monster trucks seems to be at an all-time high right now, and you don’t have to look any further than Elk River Extreme Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota for proof of that. At your average monster truck show like Monster Jam, you will usually see about 12 to 14 monster trucks taking part in a competition, and the majority of those trucks, if not all of them, will be sponsored by a major corporation. But during a recent competition at ERX Motor Park, history was made when 18 monster trucks were scheduled to take part in the event, with all of them being independently owned and operated.

The ERX Motor Park is thought to be the largest independent competition that the U.S. has ever seen, and it featured trucks from different parts of the country, including Texas, Kansas, Ohio, Maryland, and Minnesota, according to Star News. James Trantina, who drove a truck called Rat Nasty in the event, grew up in Elk River, and he played an instrumental role in the monster truck competition coming together. He started by reaching out to about six monster truck drivers he knew personally before others started to track him down and express interest in taking part in the show. And before long, he realized that, if he was able to pull the show off, it would go down in history as one of the largest independent monster truck events ever.

This might not be the last time history is made at ERX Motor Park, either. Trantina is hoping to host another big monster truck event at the venue next year, and with a little luck, this could turn into an annual event in Minnesota. It could provide a big boost for the monster truck industry and prove that there is a big market for independent monster truck events like it.
